A Letter to Secretary of Department of Commerce

Ex-Attorney General Meese and Historian Gonzalez proposed in a February 28 WSJ-published article the 2020 Census to do away with pan-ethnic group designations altogether and only ask questions about national descent, and going back only as far as grandparents.

We echo their wise abandonment of the pseudoscientific concept of race and support the decision of adopting country origin. Except one reservation: we would like to respectfully request the ethnic origin only goes back to parents instead of grandparents as we see most second generation well assimilated in local communities.
